Natalie Portman Gets Naked for Phantom Menace??
In 1998, Star Wars fans became convenced that Natalie Portman would take off her clothes for at lease one of sences. Obviously we all knew that was false. How would they fit a nude scene into Star Wars, Ani was just a kid then, she suppose to flash a 7-8 year old her boobs? If she was to get naked in a scene with someone else the story would have been all messed up. Besides why would Lucas have an underage girl do a nude scene in the first place.
Han Solo to die in Empire Strikes Back?
When the Empire Strikes Back trailer was dropped there was a huge percentage of Star Wars fans who were conviced that Han would die. The rumor was so big that it landed a story in People Magazine. Tons of fans sent billions of letters promising they would abandon the franchise if their beloved Han Solo died.
I think I would have done the same thing..
John Rhys-Davis to play General Grievous??
Someone sent out and email claiming the Lord of the Rings actor John Rhys-Davis was at a convention and said that he was doing voice-over work for General Grievous.
It took months for people on the internet to realize it wasn't true. In the end Grievous was voiced by the sound engineer Matthew Woods.
Mick Jaggar to do the Score for Empire Strikes Back?
Rumor had it that Composer John Williams who won an Academy Award for his original score for Star Wars. A year after Star Wars broke the box office record, their was talk of replacing John Williams for Mick Jaggar, when it came to the making of Empire Strikes Back.
I would have thought Lucas Films were crazy if they had replaced John Williams for Mick Jagger but then yet I would have liked to see what Jagger would have came up with.
Jet Li to play Boba Fett?
When word spread that Boba Fett would be in Episode II, Cinescape Magazine had put together a list of ideal candidates, one which was Li. Later it was misinterpreted as definite casting news by fan sites.
Come on now who doesn't think Jet Li would have kicked some major ass as Boba Fett? Not that Boba did much in the movie either.
Han Solo and Darth Vader to become life force?
This is the funniest rumor I have heard so far. Ton of fans grasped onto the idea of an epic lightsaber battle that would occur between Han Solo and Darth Vader. Rumor has it that their light beams would fuse together to intermingle their life forces, turing the pair into one super organism that.
Onces again how do you think Stars Wars would have ended if this happened? I couldn't see this happening at all. I think the movie would have ended badly and I like the way it ended.
Christopher Walken to play Darth Bane?
Darth Bane is a character from the books. He's a Dark Lord of the Sith that sets in motion some eventd that have very serious consequences down the road. People thought he was going to show up in Episode II. Obviously the rumor was false. The closest Walken probably has ever gotten to being in a Star Wars movie was a sketch he did on SNL.
Orson Welles to play the Emperor?
Many fans were under the assumption Lucas would cast an actor w. a big name, and one of the most fixated choices was Orson Welles. When The Empire Strikes Back came out fans barely got to see the Emperor as they expected too. They had to wait until Return of the Jedi was released to see more of the Emperor.
Colin Trevorrow Will Direct Episode III?
Trevorrow in a interview he openly discuseed plans to take over a beloved property but wouldn't say what, but as word got out on the internet people started to assume it was Star Wars. Trevorrow stepped up and admitted he wasn't talking about Star Wars and that JJ Abrams was hired instead. What franchise he was talking about was actually Jurassic Park.
